Ben Fastman
Ben Fastman is a dedicated leader in the emergency services field and an experienced emergency manager. His work has been appreciated throughout southeastern Pennsylvania at several large-scale emergencies where he focuses on disaster recovery and quick mitigation strategies. With several years as a leader in the industry, Ben focuses on emerging issues in the profession.
While starting his career in the fire and emergency medical services field, Ben encountered several instances where there was a need for better planning and preparations to mitigate the impacts of disasters. Since then, he has worked to further his career in emergency management and create practical planning practices that focus on emerging threats and hazards that can impact communities. Ben also works to develop and deliver training programs for both emergency responders and the general public focusing on disaster preparedness and recovery.
Ben is currently completing his Bachelors in Public Safety and Administration in addition to holding an Associates Degree in Emergency Management and Planning. He has earned several Pro-Board certifications such as Firefighter I and II, Fire Services Instructor I, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Fire Officer I. He is also graduate of the Emergency Management Institutes Basic Academy in addition to holding his PEMA Associate certification. Ben has also attended several courses at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland, with the goal of bringing best practices back to Southeast Pennsylvania.
Outside of the emergency services field, you can find Ben teaching his local high school marching band where he serves as the Assistant Director. He has also toured the country twice, performing and teaching in 29 states! Ben proudly instructs one of the top drumlines on the east coast and spends his weekends working with some of the nation's top drumline educators and performers.
Ben has proudly received several awards such as Firefighter Of The Year and his local department's President's Achievement award. He has also created several fire education programs that have been featured in several published articles through local news outlets.
